Litigation
Civil litigation is the resolution of disputes and claims through the County Court and the High Court. Generally such matters fall into two categories – broken contracts and civil wrongs.
The range of disputes based on contracts can range from comparatively minor matter like defective goods to high value claims such as arise out of building contracts. Civil wrongs include cases of dispute over boundaries and trespassing.
Oglethorpe & Broatch can provide to existing clients a preliminary service to advise on how to avoid becoming embroiled in litigation. Because of the distance from Keswick to the nearest court we will usually refer clients to other firms situated in the appropriate court town if litigation does in fact ensue.
We do not offer a service for magistrates’ court cases since the Keswick Magistrates Court was closed in 2000. Please contact us for more information.
